Code of Conduct

At Xtatic, we strive to provide an inclusive, safe, and enriching environment for all students, promoting educational growth, creativity, and teamwork. To ensure a positive experience, we expect every student to adhere to the following guidelines throughout the program.

SUPERVISION & GROUP PARTICIPATION

For safety reasons, students must stay within designated areas and remain with their group or a program instructor at all times. Leaving the group without permission is strictly prohibited and may result in dismissal from the program at the family’s expense.

During structured activities, staff will supervise students closely. At times, students may be given limited freedom within predefined areas, typically with a peer, while unstructured time may not require direct staff oversight. During these moments, students are expected to follow safety guidelines, use good judgment, and communicate with staff if they need support.

COMMITMENT TO SAFETY & WELLBEING

Students are responsible for their own wellbeing and are expected to:

  • Take prescribed medications as advised by their healthcare providers.
  • Stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, and use insect repellent (where needed).
  • Dress appropriately for the weather and activities.
  • Eat three balanced meals daily.
  • Communicate any health concerns or discomfort to program staff promptly.

PROHIBITED SUBSTANCES

We have a zero-tolerance policy for alcohol, tobacco products, vaping, and illegal drugs during the program, even where local laws may allow their use. Possession, consumption, or facilitation of these activities will result in immediate dismissal at the family’s expense.

Program staff may inspect personal belongings if substance possession is suspected. Confiscated items will not be returned, even with parental consent.

Students are expected to report any incidents involving substance use or misconduct. Failing to report such behavior is a violation of the Code of Conduct.

RESPECT FOR OTHERS & INCLUSIVITY

Xtatic fosters a culture of respect and acceptance, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, or socioeconomic background. Disruptive behavior, insensitive language, or bullying—whether verbal, physical, or digital—will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action, including dismissal from the program.

We define bullying as any act intended to harm, exclude, or intimidate others, including verbal threats or inappropriate physical contact.

PROHIBITED ITEMS & ACTIONS

  • Weapons: Knives, slingshots, lighters, and other potential weapons are not allowed. Students may not purchase such items as souvenirs unless staff holds them for safekeeping until the program’s conclusion.
  • Body Modifications: Tattoos, piercings, or any form of body alteration are not permitted during the program, even with parental consent.

RESPECT FOR PROGRAM GOALS & LOCAL CULTURE

Students are expected to participate fully in all program activities with an open mind and a willingness to learn. Disengagement or non-participation may result in a reduction of service hours or credits, where applicable.

Respecting local cultural norms is essential to fostering positive relationships. Students must comply with staff guidelines on appropriate clothing and behavior.

RELATIONSHIPS, SEXUAL CONDUCT, AND HARASSMENT

To maintain a safe and inclusive environment, students must refrain from engaging in exclusive relationships, sexual acts, or inappropriate behavior. Any form of harassment—including gender-based comments, unwanted physical contact, or solicitation—will not be tolerated and may result in immediate dismissal.

Students are encouraged to report any instances of harassment or misconduct directly to program staff.

WATER SAFETY

Swimming and water-based activities are only permitted under staff supervision. Students may not swim alone or participate in unauthorized water activities. Programs requiring swim participation may include a swim test for safety.

COMMITMENT TO THE PROGRAM

We expect students to engage actively and responsibly in all aspects of the program. Credit for community service hours or participation is earned through commitment and effort, not automatically granted. Program staff reserves the right to adjust credits or service hours for lack of participation or rule violations.

By adhering to this Code of Conduct, students contribute to a positive learning environment where creativity, collaboration, and personal growth thrive. Thank you for your cooperation in making Xtatic programs a success.
