General FAQ

Is Xtatic right for me?

Xtatic’s Healthcare Internships and Computer Science Bootcamp are ideal for students passionate about healthcare, computer science technology, and global perspectives. We seek driven, curious students who are eager to gain hands-on experience, connect with peers worldwide, and explore future medical and tech pathways.

Am I eligible?

Xtatic welcomes teens who meet our age criteria and demonstrate a keen interest in healthcare and technology. Our programs, however, are not designed for therapeutic purposes, so applicants with chronic medical conditions, significant psychiatric histories, or certain physical disabilities may have additional application steps to ensure they’re fully supported. These criteria are in place to ensure a safe and meaningful experience for each participant.

You can review Xtatic’s Essential Eligibility Criteria for more details before applying.

We have students from all over the U.S.

Why did Xtatic choose China and Turkey for the Healthcare Internship Camp?

We selected China and Turkey as our destinations because both countries offer unique advantages in medical education, clinical exposure, and cultural immersion.

· High Patient Volume & Medical Expertise:

China, with the largest population in the world, and Turkey, which serves as a regional medical hub for Europe and the Middle East, both have extensive healthcare systems and high patient volumes. This provides students with valuable exposure to real-world medical environments.

· Clinical Access & Hands-On Opportunities:

Both countries have more flexible regulations around medical training and observership compared to the U.S., allowing students to observe, participate, and even practice basic clinical techniques under professional supervision. Xtatic ensures all students receive proper pre-camp training and that all activities are conducted with strict safety protocols in place.

· Cultural Richness & Safety:

In addition to their medical significance, China and Turkey are renowned for their cultural heritage, safety, and hospitality—making them ideal locations for students to gain both educational and global cultural experiences.

Turkey: A Bridge Between Europe and Asia

· Often referred to as the “Back Garden of Europe,” Turkey is a global destination for affordable and advanced medical procedures, especially in fields like plastic surgery and hair transplantation.

· Xtatic is partnering with local medical universities and hospitals near Istanbul to provide students with high-quality medical training and workshops that are rarely accessible in the U.S.

· Students will also explore the rich culture, historic landmarks, and beautiful scenery of the Istanbul region—blending education with unforgettable travel experiences.

China: Tradition Meets Modern Medicine

· China’s healthcare system is both vast and comprehensive, offering insights into modern clinical practices as well as the country’s long-standing medical traditions.

· Our camp will be based in Qingdao Province, known for its scenic beauty (including Tai Mountain), vibrant local culture, and outstanding regional cuisine.

· We are proud to partner with JinYingJie, one of the largest and most respected medical training providers in China, with over 20 years of experience. JinYingJie will lead our courses, labs, and clinical observerships.

What Do I Need to Know About Roommates?

How many students share a room?

2 students will be assigned into each room.

I’m going on the program with people I know. Can we room together?

  • Yes! Simply Xtatic staff when assigning rooms, and we’ll do our best to accommodate. However, we encourage you to consider stepping out of your comfort zone to meet new friends and enrich your experience.
  • Keep in mind, even if you room with someone you know, you may be assigned to separate mentor groups or project teams. Most of your time will be spent outside your room in hands-on activities, so there’s plenty of opportunity to connect with others throughout the program!

How does Xtatic assign roommates?

Xtatic thoughtfully considers several factors when assigning roommates, including age, geographic background, and travel experience. Rooms are separated by gender, but beyond that, we often aim to mix up the pairings to encourage new connections and create a balanced, engaging environment for everyone.

What Do I Need to Know About Flights?

Who will pick my student up at the airport? (for programs don’t cover flights)

Xtatic staff will be on hand to greet your student at the airport upon arrival and departure, positioned as close to the secure area exit as allowed by airport regulations. They’ll be easy to spot, wearing an Xtatic Staff t-shirt, holding an Xtatic sign, and having your student’s name on their roster. In cases where multiple students arrive around the same time, we may wait until the group is together before heading to the Home Base.

Who will travel with my kids? (for programs cover flights)

Xtatic staff members will accompany all students during flights, ensuring that even our younger participants (under 14) are well supervised and supported throughout the entire journey. Students will travel together as a group, with dedicated staff oversight from departure to arrival, so parents can feel confident in the care and safety provided along the way.

Will staff help students check in on the way back? Do I need to check them or get them an  e-boarding pass? (for programs don’t cover flights)

Absolutely! Our staff will assist students through check-in and ensure they reach the airport as close to the security gate as possible. If needed, we’ll also help with e-boarding passes for a smooth departure.

What if they miss their connecting flight?

Flight delays do sometimes cause missed connections, whether in the U.S. or abroad. In such cases, Xtatic’s 24/7 hotline is available for immediate support. You will likely need to rebook your student on a new flight directly with the airline, and once confirmed, we’ll notify our staff to ensure they’re there to greet your student at the new arrival time.

Can I fly with my student? I am just too nervous for them to fly without an adult!

Technically, yes; however, we encourage families to consider that opportunities for growth and self-confidence begin the moment a student embarks on their journey, including flying independently. Flying solo can be an empowering first step toward a program focused on leadership and personal development.

If you’re still concerned, many airlines offer Unaccompanied Minor services for travelers under 17 for an additional fee. With this service, an airline chaperone will escort the student through layovers and personally hand them off to our waiting Xtatic staff at the destination. For more information, please check directly with your airline.
