The International Xtatic Healthcare Internship is for ambitious high school students with a passion for healthcare careers. This exclusive 28-day program begins with two weeks of virtual training, followed by two weeks of immersive on-site experience at hospitals and clinics in China or Turkey, offering an unparalleled look into the medical field—typically reserved for graduate-level students.

• Immersive Clinical Experience: Participants work alongside healthcare professionals, using cutting-edge medical equipment, interacting with real patients, and gaining hands-on experience in a hospital environment. From patient intake and consultations to evaluation, treatment and follow-up care, students engage in the complete spectrum of daily medical routines, developing a profound understanding of the field.
• A Launchpad for Medical School Success: This program provides a powerful foundation for aspiring healthcare professionals. By developing practical skills, experiencing the realities of medical practice, and learning directly from doctors and clinicians, students gain a competitive edge in their medical school preparation and a clear view of their future careers.
• Selective Admission for Dedicated Students: Admission is highly selective, with only top applicants chosen through a rigorous screening process. Accepted students must complete a two-week virtual pre-training course, ensuring they are fully prepared for the intensive, hands-on experiences awaiting them in China or Turkey.

Impact and Outcome of the Camp

The HealthCare International Medical Camp will equip participants with both the practical skills and global perspective necessary to excel in the healthcare field. Key outcomes include:

• College Application Advantage: This program gives students a head start in professional medical training, making them more competitive applicants for medical school.
• Real-World Experience: Participants engage in professional medical activities that provide a deeper understanding of the realities of healthcare beyond the classroom.
• Global Awareness: Through field trips and interaction with healthcare professionals in China/Turkey, students will develop an appreciation for how healthcare systems function across different countries and cultures, especially in underserved communities.
• Skill Development: From patient intake and aseptic techniques to dissection and medical consultation, students will acquire foundational skills essential for medical school and beyond.
• Personal Growth: By exploring different facets of healthcare—whether as a doctor, surgeon, nurse, or public health worker—students will make informed decisions about which career path is right for them. The camp is designed to help students clarify their goals and reassess their career choices.
• College Application Counseling Service: Students will receive virtual college consultation sessions after the camp is over (led by our expert college counselor).

Eligibility Criteria

• Age Requirement: Open to U.S. citizens aged 14 to 18 at the time of departure.

• Visa Requirement: Applicants must secure a visa to China or Turkey prior to travel.

• Language Requirement: This is an English-speaking program; no additional language skills are required.
• Health Requirements: Students with serious medical needs or those unable to endure long-distance air travel should reconsider participating in this program for health and safety concerns.

What’s Included in the Tuition

• Educational Materials: Access to all necessary learning resources for lectures, labs, and hands-on activities.
• Lectures, Labs, Cultural Activities, and Excursions: Engaging sessions led by experts, along with immersive cultural experiences and excursions.
• Flights (different from program to program): Flight tickets are booked from reliable international airlines.
• In-country Transportation: All local transportation required during the program including airport transfer.
• Housing: Comfortable accommodations throughout the program duration.
• Meals: Three nutritious meals per day that can be tailored to a wide variety of dietary restrictions.
• Professional Full-time Staff and Experts: Guidance from experienced program staff and healthcare professionals.

To reserve your place, a deposit of $1,000 is required.

 

Important Information

• Payment/Deposit Timeline: A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required within 7 days of receiving the offer letter. The remaining balance must be paid within 30 days. How to pay?

• Travel and Medical Insurance: Provided and included in the program fee. Please see Insurance Policy for more details.
• Eligibility: Open to high school students aged 14 -18 with a strong interest in healthcare. Basic coursework in biology is recommended. (All applicants must follow the Code of Conduct.)
• Passport/Visa: A valid passport and a Chinese or Turkish visa are required. Visa fees are not included in the trip cost, and students are responsible for obtaining their own visas.
• Registration Deadline: Applications must be submitted by 01/31/2026. Participants will be notified of acceptance within two weeks of the registration deadline.
• *We encourage you to apply as early as possible as there are more slots left in earlier in the process.
• Flight Details: All flights will be booked on a major international carrier from San Francisco (SFO) or NYC (JFK) to China or Turkey. Departures from other locations are available at an adjusted price.
• Housing & Meals: Students will stay in dormitories or hotel accommodations with meals provided. Meals will include both local and international cuisine options, ensuring dietary needs are met.
