Essential Eligibility Policy

1. Independent Personal Care & Medication Management:
  • Participants must be able to manage their daily personal care needs independently.
  • This includes the ability to self-administer and manage any medications or treatments (including those related to mental health) without external assistance while away from home and regular care providers.
  • At least one certified staff member trained in CPR and first aid will be present with participants at all times.
2. Suitability for Participants with Medical or Behavioral Conditions:
  • Students with chronic illnesses, psychiatric conditions, behavioral challenges, or disabilities may require additional screening to ensure the program is appropriate for them.
  • Additional documentation may be requested, such as:
    • Physician approval
    • Confirmation of stability over a 12-month period prior to the program start date
  • Changes in a student’s medical history must be reported to Xtatic promptly.
3. Parental/Guardian & Physician Support:
  • A physician’s endorsement is required for all participants.
  • Parental/guardian consent is required for students under 18 years of age.

EXPECTATIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS

1. Openness to New Experiences:
Participants should demonstrate a willingness to:
  • Try new things and engage with unfamiliar environments and cultures.
  • Remain inclusive, respectful, and communicative, even when facing ambiguity or discomfort.

2. Proactive Communication:
Students must commit to communicating directly with Xtatic staff if they need assistance or face challenges during the program.


3. Ability to Self-Regulate & Manage Environmental Stressors:
Participants need to manage environmental changes and challenges, including:

  • Heat, humidity, cold, altitude, insects, or dietary changes
  • Jet lag, time zone adjustments, or shared living spaces
  • Limited or restricted use of cell phones and other personal devices

4. Situational Awareness & Judgment:
Students must maintain awareness of their surroundings and exercise sound judgment, even when not under direct supervision.


5. Compliance with the Xtatic Code of Conduct:
Participants are expected to:

  • Follow the Xtatic Code of Conduct and abide by local laws.
  • Comply with preventive measures or safety protocols recommended by program staff.
